Bitcoin: Ultimate Cyber Security
Since the advent of the internet, its Achilles heel has always been the security of digital data. Bitcoin, for the first time in history, allows for ultimate security of that data by making it immutable.
The process of making immutable digital data has been 10yrs in the making since the Bitcoin genesis block was first mined on 3rd January 2009 by Dr Craig Steven Wright under a pseudonymous identity Satoshi Nakamoto. To understand why using a pseudonym was essential in the creation of Bitcoin you can read my article on the paradox of the centralised starting point linked here — https://medium.com/@sirtoshitv/bitcoin-the-paradox-of-the-centralised-starting-point-c359d164cbdb
To create immutable data there must not be a single central point of failure that could single-handedly flick a switch to erase any data on it or simply close the network down by turning it off. This is why the centralised starting point of the Bitcoin network, which is the point of authority & control, must be diluted over a period of time through a process of continued distribution of its network and ever-increasing competition by scaling between those who sustain & secure the network for its economic rewards.
Combined with the dilution of the central point of authority & control is the creation of Blockchain Technology. Blockchain Technology is the linking of digital data via a mathematical sum, which means should any data be changed, it would change the entire sum and all the data along with it. The sum is infinite (constantly being added to) as more & more data is linked on top of it. New data is added to the chain in chunks known as “Blocks” and placed on top of previously created blocks, which is why you’ll often hear reference to “Block height”.
Block height is the number of blocks stacked on top of one another, linked together. The more data in the chain/the higher the block height, the more secure the data becomes because an increasing amount of computing power would be required to change it all.
This is why Bitcoin offers the ultimate cybersecurity and will lead to the creation of a brand new type of internet, where data can be accessed & retrieved just like on the current internet except this time all the data is immutable & can, therefore, be verified & trusted. The name of this new internet is — The Metanet!!!
The Metanet can only run on the Bitcoin protocol that Satoshi Nakamoto defined in the Bitcoin White Paper as “Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System”. This protocol named Bitcoin Satoshi Vision is known as Bitcoinˢᵛ & has the ticker symbol (BSV).
To understand why the Satoshi Nakamoto’s Bitcoin protocol is known as Bitcoinˢᵛ & has the ticker symbol BSV read my Medium article titled: “Bitcoin: A Tail of Blockchain BTC/BCH/BSV” linked here — https://medium.com/@sirtoshitv/bitcoin-a-tail-of-blockchains-x3-eebb136457c7
Satoshi Nakamoto had a vision. That vision was Bitcoin. Bitcoin is Satoshi’s Vision. Bitcoin is BSV.
